Reflexology has a long and fascinating history spanning thousands of years. We have information dating it back to
ancient Egypt and it has also been practised for many years in China and India.
Its introduction to the modern western world came in 1913 when Dr William Fitzgerald was the first to show us what
was then known as the 'Zone Therapy'.
The name remained the same until physiotherapist Eunice Ingham
developed it further in the 1930s, at which time it became known as 'Reflexology'. It is now a recognised
and medically respected complementary therapy.

This powerful non-invasive therapy works on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet which relate to all organs,
glands and systems of the body. The stimulation of these reflexes improves circulation, relaxes nerves and encourages
self healing.
During therapy, the reflexologist applies gentle pressure to the feet, helping to restore and maintain the body's
natural equilibrium.
